Well I've had a shot on the thing and so far I'm not impressed - the launch games are rubbish. Played Sonic in Currys and the draw distances and textures were appalling. Roll on Gran Turismo and MGS4.

I have to admit that the build quality of the unit is better than the 360 and it runs much, much quieter - you can barely hear it when standing beside it as opposed to hearing the 360 at the other side of the house! I prefer the 360 controllers as the Sony seem to have used a lower grade plastic this time around :( The six-axis thing takes some getting used to also.

Theoretically the PS3 should also display games at a higher resolution than the 360 - will find out in the summer when he gets a HD TV.
