I've wanted one of these for years, finally found a good 'un :D
And before Darren says it, the 360 produces more polygons and effects per second 8-)

isn't this the 32X though....wasnt the mega CD a seperate machine that stood side by side on the megadrive (newer square model)?

yes the mega cd was a separate unit iirc.
I cant remember playing the 32x but I can remember a few mega cd systems floating about my pull of friends when I was younger.

Yeah that's a 32x, I have a MegaCD2 also...was planning on getting to old girl out of storage today and having a few games but the other half is passed out on my bed with a hangover :D
Here's a MegaCD2 - the first one had a cool drawer loader but it was pretty huge :)

Owned both mega drives & cd's, but never did get a 32x - were they not made in small numbers?
My sister got a mega drive 2 as part of her Christmas - was weird, cos places like game sell the games for about a pound a time so was a nice cheap present for her!

32x's never really took off because they came out about a year before the Saturn and PS...the claims of the machine actually being 32bit were dubious aswell. Hell, ever the Saturn wasn't a real 32 bit machine, with a second processor being added as an after thought to compete with the PS.
The Saturn couldn't handle transparencies and the 3D effect wasn't that good either...it couldn't be beaten for 2D gaming and drawing sprites right enough.
Man, I've got right off on one there

I have a 32x too. Great thing but not the most reliable (if i buy a new game it will take me 30 mins of contact cleaning before they work).
i have knuckles chaotix. one of the rarest games for it.

I've well and truly got the retro bug again - bought like a dozen games off ebay last week at around £1 each :D
Got Earthworm Jim 2 for the Saturn yesterday so I dug out the old console this morning - bloody brilliant. I miss old school platformers and this was one of the best, the soundtrack kicks ass too (the stereo was up to 11) 8-)

I've paid more for games, but I've been reading up on it and it didn't get a good review. May just buy loads of cheaper games instead.
I won King of the Fighters '95 with the expansion cart for the Saturn yesterday for £7 - I'm well chuffed with that.

I don't bother listening to reviews anymore. 90% of all "terrible" games i actually like.

lol, I use gamespot so there are multiple reviews - which is probably a good idea to read before I spend silly money on a game. I also tend to like the games most people think are mediocre.
